FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • CBD, which is short for cannabidiol, is one of nearly a hundred chemical components found within the cannabis plant. Although it is typically assumed that all cannabis is responsible for producing psychoactive effects — known colloquially as a ‘high’ — such is not always the case. Nevertheless, CBD has steadily grown in popularity by offering the medicinal potential of cannabis without the negative side effects of other cannabinoids (chemicals of cannabis) like THC.

  • Remarkably enough, our bodies house its own biological system known as the ‘Endocannabinoid System,’ or ECS for short, which is located in all mammalian species (i.e., humans, our furry friends, etc.) Although our body create its own compounds that regulate many internal functions, known as endocannabinoids, those found within the cannabis plant mimic their structure and function. Through receptors, enzymes, and cannabinoids, the ECS is responsible for maintaining homeostasis, or the state of stable, internal balance. Because the ECS influences all 11 main physiological systems of the body, the chemical compounds found within cannabis are their powerful sidekicks helping to ensure that the body reaches internal zen.

  • Cannabis can be traced back nearly 5,000 years ago, and even then, our distant ancestors knew that the cannabis plant had effective medicinal potential. Notwithstanding there being an infinite number of ways in which CBD — and other chemicals of the cannabis family — can help the body with its many tasks, early clinical research has found them to be promising in relieving pain, reducing anxiety and depression, promoting neuroprotection and heart health, and treating seizures, among a vast variety of other ailments and conditions.*

  • In short, many prefer incorporating CBD into their daily routine/lifestyle. For example, those trying to relax and find the zzz’s easier may find it more effective to supplement CBD-rich products before their bedtime, whereas those using such to help alleviate multiple ailments and other health factors may introduce these products into their schedule throughout the course of the day. Simply — because of our unique biology — there is no ”tried and true” method that works for everyone; the best to understand when to take CBD products is by trying them for yourself.

  • It is a common misconception that our hemp oil contains solely cannabidiol (CBD) as an active ingredient; however, there are many other cannabinoids comprised within the formula. “Full-spectrum” refers to multiple cannabinoids present within a product — including THC — whereas “broad spectrum” contains multiple cannabinoids without THC. Our best-selling formula contains CBD, CBC, CBG, and trace amounts of Δ9 THC and their acid/varinic forms. We understand this scientific jargon likely has little value for you, so let us explain. These compounds are some of the more than 100+ cannabinoids found within the cannabis plant — all of which have their own unique effects on the body.

  • Interestingly, it is believed that cannabinoids can actually work synergistically — or with one another — to enhance their beneficial effects on the body. Additionally, terpenes, which are natural flavonoids and compounds within cannabis that make each strain have a unique flavor profile, also are thought to work together with cannabinoids. This phenomenon is known as the “Entourage Effect,” and it is partly the reason why formulas containing multiple cannabinoids may be more effective compared to those that do not have variation.
