Just As Nature Intended | The Vision Towards A Healthier Planet

Introduction

Since the early beginnings of K.C.CBD, promoting sustainability and eco-conscious practices has always been one of our founding principles. Aside from the lengths we take in sharing a marketplace of innovative, original, and ultimately, natural hemp-infused products, here is what we are doing to reward the Earth with the ingredients with which it’s provided to us:

Ingredients

The internationally-sourced ingredients within our cosmetics stand in a category of their own. Butters, oils, salts, clay, and additives — all of the elements that constitute our carefully formulated products — are selected for quality and in establishing our eco-conscious principles. We are working in part with Candela Peru, an alternative trade organization founded in 1989, that harvests high-quality, organic, and fair-trade shea/cocoa butters that are passionately used within many of our products. Through their non-traditional trading methods, we aid local Peruvian farmers in commercializing their offerings, while strengthening their economy and in promoting Amazonian and Andean biodiversity.

Packaging

Our packaging options have been refined to promote our eco-conscious visions. The “naturally simple” mantra does not just include our products, but further extends into that which our formulas are packaged.

Consequently, we have teamed up with NoIssue and their “Eco-Packaging Alliance” to incorporate sustainability into all sectors of our manufacturing processes. Our shipping boxes are 100% compostable, which acts as a beneficial addition to backyard compost in balancing the carbon-nitrogen ratio. These boxes are made with a number of plant-based materials — without any additional chemicals or extensive carbon-emissive methods. Each package is then hand-stamped by our K.C.CBD team with soy-based ink.

Moreover, the products we sell are all packaged with high-quality materials or sustainably-sourced alternatives to plastics and other materials that damage the environment. Our Kukui Lip Balm epitomizes this principle. Rather than use single-use plastics for our moisturizing balm, we use containers made from 100% renewable and sustainably-sourced kraft paper. The interior is lined with plant-based wax paper, which makes them fully compostable, biodegradable, and recyclable.

To maintain product integrity while still displaying the true beauty of our offerings, all products are wrapped in a 100% biodegradable bag using alternative cellophane — a cellulose product derived from wood fibers taken only from sustainable forests — to reduce our environmental impact in any way necessary. They are then placed into our familiar white velvet and gold drawstring bags and shipped directly to your doorstep from our creative studio.

We are constantly refining our packaging processes to incorporate methods that uphold our brand principles in striving towards combatting climate change and healing nature and the world.
